Medicare Advantage FAQs

Is Medicare Advantage Right for Me?

Medicare Advantage is a great choice for individuals who want all-in-one coverage and lower out-of-pocket costs, while Original Medicare may be a better option for those seeking maximum flexibility. Our agents will be happy to guide you through all your options to figure out the best plan for you.

Most Medicare Advantage plans require the use of in-network doctors and hospitals. It’s recommended that you check your plan’s provider network prior to enrolling to make sure your doctor is in your network.

Most Medicare Advantage plans include prescription drug coverage (Medicare Part D). However, some don’t, so you should check each plan to ensure your medications are covered.

Yes! You can change your plan during the Annual Enrollment Period (Oct 15-Dec 7). Likewise, if you have Medicare Advantage and want to switch to Original Medicare, you can do so during the Annual Enrollment Period. Changes made during this period go into effect on January 1.

Most Medicare Advantage Plans do include the extra benefits of dental, vision, and hearing coverage that aren’t included with Original Medicare. The exact services and coverage can vary by plan though, so make sure you review each plan’s benefits to ensure your needs are met.

Medicare Advantage plans vary in cost depending on the provider, location, and level of coverage. Many plans offer low or even $0 monthly premiums, but you may still be responsible for copayments, deductibles, and your Medicare Part B premium. Reviewing plan details can help you understand your total costs.

You can enroll in a Medicare Advantage plan when you first become eligible for Medicare during your Initial Enrollment Period. You can also join, switch, or drop a Medicare Advantage plan during the Annual Enrollment Period (October 15 – December 7) each year. Certain life events may also qualify you for a Special Enrollment Period.
