Medicare enrollment has a 7-month window, from 3 months before the month you turn 65, through your birth month, and the following 3 months. If your birthday is in July, your enrollment window will be from April to October.

With Original Medicare and Medicare Supplement coverage, you can generally keep your doctor if they accept Medicare.
Medicare Advantage and individual or family health plans typically use provider networks, so your doctor must participate in the selected plan to receive the lowest in-network costs.

For Medicare, you may qualify for a Special Enrollment Period; otherwise, you can enroll during the General Enrollment Period from January 1 through March 31, with coverage generally beginning the following month. Late-enrollment penalties may apply.
